On the topic of hair

Being a student can be so annoying. Juggling two jobs and studying can be totally ok, if all three factors are somewhat relyable. For the last weeks I have been waiting to start a new job at the place I used to work at and was wondering why neither I nor my collegue, who was supposed to start with me, had heard from the office. After I got hold of the person in charge, she told me she was so sorry, but their client hadn't confirmed yet. She did not know, when or if she would have any work for us at all. I do still hope that all will go well and there will be tons of work so she will still need us... It's just so difficult to get work that matches with my study time! But hey, I can focus my attention on my other job and on being extremely studious until I figure something out.

But enough now with my personal rantings and worries!

I decided to let my hair grow longer again! After a year of crazy hair and pixies I feel the need to have it longer again. With the wish comes the fear of transition lengh (a longish bob makes me look like Angela Merkel, I swear...). But until then, there is still time to pass and I am looking forward to sport this looke in a couple of weeks:

I guess pastels are 'with it'...

Sporting... the pastels! I just had to. From the blazer to the shorts, tanktop, and even the shoes. And the rings. It' like a pastel war.

Don't mind the wrinkles in the fabric. I'm a real person and go places. So sometimes that will show.

Feeling like this today

Every pose was akward. Kinda cricked my back. Last night I slept on only one mattress, which is rather unagreeable with my bones. Normally I have five. Just kidding. There are only two (which seems to be not uncommon im the US, I was told. Around here in Europe it is rarely seen.).

You have to understand the fabulousness of these shorts. They are super high waisted and made of some kind of magically soft material, which description matches none I know. Maybe I am going over the top now. But honestly: great fabric. But it wrinkles just looking at it.

These shoes. Funkadelic. In a nude kind of way. And know what is even more funky? MACs Russian Red nail varnish on my tipsy-toes (totally have to credit this to the bf, who, while shopping, realized the importance of purchasing a MAC limited edition item in my favorit color instantly before it is sold out)!!

Summer lovin'... it is a blast!

{ Wie warme Tage die Stimmung heben können! Nach einem kurzen Ausflug für die Arbeit verbachte ich den ganzen gestrigen Tag im Garten in der warmen Sonne. Zunächst bildete ich mir ein, ich könne ja lernen... Was ist es nur am warmen Wetter, das mich so träge macht? Ich könnte einfach stundenlang da sitzen, dösen, die Pflanzen und Vögel beobachten und die Zeit an mir vorbei ziehen lassen.

Heute fing der Tag so an wie gestern, rauf aufs Fahrrad, kurz was bei der Arbeit erledigen und wieder zurück. Allerdings wollte ich heute schon etwas geschafft haben. Wie schön, dass mein Arbeitszimmer so große Fenster hat. Das ist, als würde man draußen sitzen. Nach einer Weile fühlt es sich auch so an. Ich konnte mich aber gegen das innere Faultier wehren und richtig was schaffen. Power to the sun, jiha. }

Sam H. in... The Blue Vase

{ Ich weigere mich, mir eine Winterjacke anzuziehen. Sorry, geht nicht mehr. Ich habe einfach keine Lust mehr auf die Kleidung, die ich damit anziehen müsste. Es ist Frühling, und ich hab keinen Bock auf Regen und Wind. So wie heute. Es ist ko-ki-kalt draußen. Aber da ohnehin Herrentag ist, habe ich mich in mein Home Office verschanzt und bin wichtig. Der einzige Teil von mir, der heute einen Fuß vor die Tür gesetzt hat, war mein Hund.

Da die Stories, die mein Ordner "Arbeit" auf meinem Laptop zu erzählen hat wenig interessant sind, bekommt der geneigte Leser heute wieder mal ein DIY, welches ich gestern begangen habe.

Es handelt sich dabei um diese Vase. Sie stand schon lange rum und war blau. Irgendwie fand ich die Farbe interessant, aber irgendwie hat sie mich deprimiert. Darum habe ich sie nun, passend zu meinem "grauen" Wohnzimmer (ICH finde die Farbe schrecklich Vogue!), Perlweiß lackiert.

"Before you pant the vase you see... THE RING... " Hahahaha!

Ich habe ganz gewöhnliche Ölfarbe aus dem Bauhaus verwendet. Der Farbton hieß, wie oben schon angedeutet, "Perlweiß". Ist dann etwas weicher als "Weiß".

Dann 'nen Pinsel in die Hand genommen und los gehts! Vorher tut man allerdings gut dran, das Stück vorher abzuseifen um es von den Spuren des Alterns, sollte es welche haben, zu befreien.

So sieht das fertige Stück nun aus! Sobald meine wunderbaren Tulpen verblüht sind, werde ich einen Strauß Lilien besorgen um das Teil in Aktion zu sehen.

Wie man sehen kann, habe ich einen Teil der Vase in so einer Art strukturierten Optik gelassen. Der Rest ist ganz weiß. Mal sehen ob mir das gefällt. Wenn nicht - es ist noch Farbe da. }

Since the weather hasn't being all that nice for the last couple of days, I engaged in a DIY. I had this vase lying around for ages. And, although I kinda likes it in dark blue, I also had the feeling that that color was somewhat depressing. So I took a can of oil paint and transformed it. As soon as my current living room flowers have wilted, I am going to buy some lilies.

This image has somewhat inspired me to let my hair grow out. I will try, but I can't promise... One thing in this picture I do already have: the plant. Har. Har.
